OAKLAND. The Spice Island Tea House is a fun and funky restaurant that's popular with the university crowd. The chef gets her inspiration from Burmese, Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisines. Try the ginger salad or the festival rice, which includes onions, vegetables, eggs and meat, if desired. There are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items on the menu.
